Warner and Bin Hammam Thrown Under Bus

Wow...

I'm at a loss for words after reading this. It's like getting your biggest Christmas wish and being fired all in the same day.

The great writers over at bigsoccer have made it known that Warner and Bin Hammam are both (as well as several others) now charged with outright bribery of other FIFA officials to secure the CONCACAF votes for the June 1st FIFA President election.

So what does this mean? Well, Jack Warner can kiss his ass goodbye (and does that mean everyone will now be kissing Blazer's rosy backside?) as well as saying "Four more years of corruption," brought to you by the other corrupt guy, Sepp Blatter.

Just... wow.

  1. There is NO WAY that FIFA could have voted to hold the 2022 World Cup in a country that prohibits alcohol unless there was a little, shall we say, motivation from Mohammed bin Hammam and his people. I'm not saying it should necessarily be in the U.S. but I am saying that Qatar has never qualified for the World Cup so it is insane that they qualify to host it.

  2. Of course they qualify to host it. Didn't you see how Qatar bailed the AFF's Primera Division out of $71mil in debt as an "investment"? Or the conspiracy side of me thinking that Qatar getting the WC 2022 bid was partly contingent on bin Hammam supporting Blatter yet backed out after he won the bid and saw a whole in which to take down Blatter with Warner's support?

    Interesting times.
