Reportedly, Barton claims it was QPR's ambition that spurred him to make the move after completing his medical earlier in the week.
No word yet if Newcastle threw in team owner Mike Ashley as a team punching bag to sweeten the deal.
With Barton gone, Newcastle has now turned over half the lineup that started for them at the beginning of last season and we fully expect to see them get a workout holding up the rest of the table from the relegation zone.
At right, you see local police leading Joey to QPR for his medical (we kid).

Funny. Ashley never wanted to keep him. Crazy thing is the Toon in the top three right now. Won't last, but Ashley probably thinks he's a genius. Honestly, Joey will be missed. Highly underrated player.
