Streaker Tackle Gets Player Red

Read about this yesterday, and finally I found video of it...

Basically, the guy tackling the Borat wanna be is player/coach Ashley Vickers of Dorchester Town. The incident happened with an attendance ~500 for the match against Havant Waterlooville. The interesting part is that he wouldn't be the only player to see red. The game was tied 1-1 at the time, and after this card, and two other reds, Dorchester lost 3-1, finishing with just 8 men. Think the ref might have had it in for them? Even the players for Havant Waterlooville were complaining about the card.

Milan, Who Are Ya?

Wow, say what you will about Spurs and their current league form, but there is no denying that they are going all out in CL action.

Today, in the 2nd leg, Spurs drew AC Milan 0-0 at home. Why is that big? Because Spurs won in Milan 1-0 last week, thus putting AC Milan out of CL play and previously bested Inter Milan in group play.

So, your quarters/semis will be drawn on March 18th. Who's left?

1. Tottenham Hotspurs (ENG)
2. Barcelona (ESP)
3. Shaktar Donetsk (UKR)
4. Schalke 04 (GER)

5.Man U (ENG)/ Olympique Marsailles (FRA) winner
March 15th
(2nd leg at Man U, tied 0-0)
6. Bayern Munich (GER)/ Inter Milan (ITA) winner
March 15th
(2nd leg at Munich, Bayern leads 1-0 agg)

7. Chelsea (ENG)/FC Kopenhavn (DEN) winner
March 16th
(2nd leg at Chelsea, Chelsea leads 2-0 agg)
8. Real Madrid (ESP)/ Olympique Lyon (FRA) winner
March 16th
(2nd leg at Madrid, tied 1-1)

The only surprise so far for me was Schalke's win. I have Spurs, but I have my biases, so you can discount that for whatever you want. Who do you have moving on from the 2nd group of 4?

PS- Professor, why do you have to harsh my good mood? Corrected.

What the Heck, Middle East?

First you start having revolutions, and now you mean to tell me that Freddy Adu scored a goal? What the hell, man?!

It was a decent shot, but don't start quoting LL Cool J just yet. Remember, sustained good play at the highest level should get you a call up. Your first goal, in I don't remember how long anymore, in D2 Turkey, does not.

Quarters

It's a little late posting, but here you go...

Tuesday brings us 2 games for Champions League elimination:

Barcelona v Arsenal (1:30pm CST on FSC)
and
Shaktar Donetsk v AS Roma (4pm CST on FSC)

For Arsenal, this is do or die. They are up 2-1 from the first leg. That said, it was a home win and should Barca manage to eek out a 1-0 win at Camp Nou today, then Arsenal is going home empty handed based on away goal differential. Just last year, Arsenal was in a similar position and Lionel Messi absolutely demolished them single handedly in a 4-1 lop sided win for Barca. Arsenal, for their part, are coming off an embarrassing loss to Birmingham in the Carling Cup. Many an Arsenal fan will quickly state that the CC trophy is not their goal, but if the Gunners lose today, they'd be more than happy to have a redo against Birmingham in the finals.

Snood Banned

Perhaps the most effeminate article of clothing ever seen on pro soccer players, the Snood is now banned from the game. On record, FIFA pres Sepp Blatter has stated that "these things are dangerous and someone could get hanged by it".
