Confederations Cup: Japan v Mexico Highlights

Well, winner of this game was still going home.  Now it was just for honor.  Chicharito scores twice, then duffs a pk and Japan pulls one back late, but too late.  Mexico wins, 2-1.

Confederations Cup: Brazil v Italy Highlights

Wow, what a game.  Neymar scores, Fred nets two (one was questionably offsides) and Italy scores after the refs whistle for a penalty, but he decides to let them have it afterwards rather than the required pk.  It had it all.  The highlights don't do all the justice the whole game brings. Brazil wins the group, 4-2. Can't wait to see these two meet up at WC2014.

That's the twitter USSoccer put up for Abby Wambach's run for the all time scoring title for the USWNT.  Going into the game against South Korea, she was 3 goals back from Mia Hamm's 158 goals.  She didn't stop there...

She netted 4.   And moved into sole possession of the title, "Baddest Woman Alive".  The bigger feat?  She did it all in the first half.  Damn.



Too bad you weren't one of the fans at Red Bull Arena to witness this in person, but the highlights are almost as good.  Just remember to hit your girl Abby up at @Abbywambach on Twitter, and let her know she's that damn good.

Confederations Cup: Spain v Tahiti Highlights

The odds were 11/2 for a 4-0 win for Spain.  I guess they didn't like the odds makers short selling them.  Instead, they roll out to an easy 10-0 win.  Ouch.

It was a tale of two halves.  Up 2-1 at half, Japan scores an own goal and gives up a pk to lose it 4-3.  Tough break.  Hope it doesn't cost them a chance at the elimination round.

WCQ: Honduras v US Highlights

Jozy Altidore on a roll as he nets his 4th in 4 games.  The scoreline flatters the park your bus style Honduras trots out, but in the end, the result is what matters. US 1 Honduras 0.

Confederations Cup: Nigeria v Tahiti Highlights

We all knew going into the tourney, it was going to be a little lopsided.  Not 30yrs ago, Sweden started a chimney sweeper in goal.  Well, Tahiti may have such nice places as this to go back to after getting humbled, but in the mean time, they get pummeled by Nigeria 6-1.  On the plus side, they finally score in a big tourney.
